“Take, eat; this is my body… Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
— Matthew 26:26–28
As Christ promised, in Holy Communion He gives us His own body and blood for the forgiveness of our sins. In this meal, Jesus Himself comes to us to forgive us, feed us, and strengthen us in faith.
Christ is truly present in the Supper according to His Word. Because of this, St. Paul teaches that those who eat and drink must discern the body and examine themselves.
So that all who receive the Supper with us may receive it to their blessing, those who commune at Zion are first baptized and instructed in the basics of the Christian faith.
