Worship is centered on God coming to us with His mercy and love. We hear His Word. He offers forgiveness. He strengthens us to trust and follow Him. We respond with prayer, praise, and thanksgiving.
Because God comes to give these gifts, our Sunday services are reverent and centered on Jesus Christ.
The rhythm of worship - which we call the liturgy - follows the rhythm of our lives under God:
The Lord - Father, Son, and Spirit - comes to us in His holiness and grace.
We acknowledge that we are sinners who need His mercy, and He forgives us for Jesus’ sake.
We call on Him in prayer to hold us and lead us.
We hear Him speak in readings from the Bible, and the pastor draws out God's truth in a sermon based on those readings.
We pray again, that He would bless our lives, look on our needs, and lead us to eternal life.
He comes to assure us we are His and to give us His grace, as Christ gives us His own body and blood to eat and drink in Holy Communion.
He blesses us with His peace and favor as we are sent to go out to serve Him.
The service may feel unfamiliar at first. But the order of service is printed in the bulletin to help you follow along. And the structure is repeated almost every week, so that it is easy to learn over time, and shapes us to see our lives as part of His rhythm of grace.
Households of every size are welcome. We are glad when children, parents, grandparents, singles, and visitors come to hear God’s Word, worship Christ, and grow in the faith.
Holy Communion is received by those who have been instructed in the Lutheran faith and share our confession. Visitors with questions about Communion are welcome to speak with the pastor.
